Classes are over, Exams are yet to begin

Today we ended official classes. Normal school is over. There remains only one for hurdle for us to conquer. Our exams. For many of us these will determine our futures, the results we get here will determine where we go for the rest of our life. For me, this is even more important then it is for most people. Throughout the year, I have been distracted - I won’t mention why here but there is a number of reasons why.

I fell behind in all of my classes, and in an effort to catch up, put off the one class that is technically my best, Multimedia, I failed that class due to lack of work completion. Not by lack of knowledge however. I scored 42/48 in the practice exam, the highest in the class by a large margin. I passed all four other subjects thankfully which has ensured I passed Year 12. My results in those subjects ranged from pretty good to alright, and thus in order to make up for the loss of points for Multimedia and terrible SAC results for Business Management, I will have to do exceptionally well during these exams. I feel I can do this for Legal and Business. But English and Visual Communication have me worried. Especially English. And they had to make that the first exam, which sucks. On Friday in fact. =/

Wish me luck guys, I’ll need it.

Everything is out to get me…

As some of you may be aware I am extremely behind in my VET Multimedia class in terms of work completion as I neglected it to focus on my other subjects I had deemed more difficult. This remains true.

I had Mr Crossland photocopy all the work I owed, the work is over an inch thick. I had a fair chance of completing most of it, until I tried installing Flash earlier today. The installer sits there running for over an hour. Okay, it was slow but was certainly making progress. The installer gets to over 95% and then tells me the file it was extracting is corrupt and to obtain another copy. Thus, the install fails, and I still don’t have access to Flash. If I download a copy, it will be at the earliest completed by 9PM tonight, and since CS 3 wont run on this computer, I’ll have to grab Flash 8 or 2004 off of BitTorrent which will take longer then a normal download. So it will complete much to late for me to get the work done.

I am now not sure what to do. I can complete some of the questions that don’t require Flash but I am not sure if it is worth it as Flash takes up an entire unit, and I need to complete all 5 units to pass Multimedia. The first one is the only one I feel is fully complete. I thus, think I will be wasting my time by doing this.

What should I do?

Do what I can, and submit knowing I will almost definently fail anyway.

Or..

Not do it, and focus on studying for the English exam on Friday to try and maximize my results for it to try to make up for failing Multimedia?

Feedback would be appreciated.

Am I doomed for forever?

Concerns

VET Multimedia

I haven’t been focusing much on this classes work, I have a lot to complete, and Monday is the final deadline. No second chances after that, and I don’t have enough time, going to try though. Basically this means I’ll probably end up failing it due to lack of work completion. It doesn’t help that I lost quite a bit of it a few weeks ago due to an issue with Gnome Partition Editor’s resize feature. I also lost a large proportion of the work sheets I had already completed. =/

It’s not that the work is hard, its just time consuming.

Interestingly I scored 42/48 on the Practice exam, the second highest in the class was actually 27/48, so thats quite a large margin. I’m not sure if there is any point doing the exam if I don’t get the work done in time though.

Either way I’ll still pass my VCE but this is a subject that had potential to really improve my ENTER Score.

I passed all other subjects, although English was cut quite close.

I guess I better get back to work, wish I could find the stuff I already completed earlier in the year though and didn’t have to start from scratch for some stuff.

Albus Dumbledore’s out!

In what I’m sure is going to please slash fan fiction communities world wide, J K Rowling revealed Friday night that the headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is in fact Gay. J K Rowling revealed the news during a question and answer session at Carnegie Hall in New York.

A 19 year old from Colorado, asked “Did Dumbledore, who believed in the prevailing power of love, ever fall in love himself?”

J K Rowling replied that:

“My truthful answer to you…I always thought of Dumbledore as gay.”

“Dumbledore fell in love with Grindelwald, and that added to his horror when Grindelwald showed himself to be what he was. To an extent, do we say it excused Dumbledore a little more because falling in love can blind us to an extent, but he met someone as brilliant as he was and, rather like Bellatrix, he was very drawn to this brilliant person and horribly, terribly let down by him.”

“Yeah, that’s how I always saw Dumbledore. In fact, recently I was in a script read-through for the sixth film, and they had Dumbledore saying a line to Harry early in the script saying, “I knew a girl once, whose hair…” I had to write a little note in the margin and slide it along to the scriptwriter, “Dumbledore’s gay!”"

“Just imagine the fan fiction now.”

I personally didn’t expect this, but can only applaud J K Rowling’s decision.

I’ve slightly updated my about me page with my weight and body mass index, and I also updated the My Computers page to correct certain details.  I added a place holder section for Victorian Certificate of Education Exam Revision notes which I will start after I have completed all my school work.

School is kind of back on track, but I still have to get work in and I’m struggling. Certainly don’t enough time, but to pass I need to at least get English done.

Well, I guess time to get back to work.
